Outdoor Beauty That Lasts — High-Gloss Surface Meets Weather-Resistant Backbone

Material Overview

ASA/PMMA is the outdoor counterpart to ABS/PMMA — and arguably the more technically sophisticated of the two alloys. Where ABS/PMMA delivers high-gloss aesthetics for indoor service, ASA/PMMA brings the same visual refinement to applications facing sustained sunlight, weather, and chemical exposure.

By replacing ABS’s UV-vulnerable butadiene phase with ASA’s acrylic-rubber chemistry, this alloy preserves its high-gloss surface and color saturation across years of outdoor service. PMMA contributes both optical depth and additional UV stability — making the combined material suitable for outdoor signage, architectural trim, and laboratory equipment requiring chemical resistance.

Key Features

☀️ Weather-Resistant High-Gloss Surface

Retains over 85% of original gloss after 1,500 hours QUV exposure — outperforming standard high-gloss alloys.

🧪 Acid and Alkali Resistance

PMMA phase delivers strong resistance to dilute acids, alkalis, and many laboratory chemicals.

🎨 Color Stability

ΔE color shift below 4.0 after equivalent five-year outdoor exposure in pigmented grades.

💎 Premium Out-of-Mold Surface

Achieves gloss levels comparable to spray-painted finishes — without paint.

📐 Dimensional Stability

Stable dimensions from –30°C to +90°C — qualifying for outdoor seasonal cycles.
