Material Overview

PC/PET is the engineer’s quiet ally — the alloy chosen when the environment is harsh, the chemistry is unforgiving, and standard polycarbonate alone cannot survive. By blending polycarbonate with semi-crystalline polyethylene terephthalate, this alloy gains improved chemical resistance, lower water absorption, and enhanced thermal performance, all at a cost structure that competes effectively against more expensive specialty resins.

 

The semi-crystalline PET phase forms ordered domains within the polycarbonate matrix, resisting solvent penetration and stress cracking far more effectively than amorphous blends. Renhong’s PC/PET compounds are specified for moments when an engineer needs something tougher than nylon, more chemically stable than PC/ABS, and thermally conductive enough to dissipate LED heat.
