Material Overview

Pure PBT and PET are both polyester resins with strong baseline properties — but each has a vulnerability. PBT alone can struggle with sustained hot-water exposure, where polyester chains hydrolyze and lose mechanical strength over time. PET alone has slower crystallization that complicates injection molding cycle times.

 

PBT/PET alloy is the engineering compromise that wins on both fronts: faster cycle time than pure PET, and notably better hydrolytic stability than pure PBT, with dimensional precision rivaling high-end engineering thermoplastics. Renhong’s PBT/PET compounds use carefully selected nucleating agents and chain extenders that accelerate PET’s crystallization while preserving the hydrolysis-resistant chemistry of the polyester backbone.
